Normal Homosexual Male: The Pre-Sentencing Evaluation That Changed Nothing
My lawyer called to say he received my evaluation from the therapist, and the results were positive.
After three sessions of questions and tests, the therapist concluded I’m a “normal homosexual male” who shows no sexual interest in prepubescent boys, nor any intent or desire to have sex with minors. My lawyer is sending me a copy of the full report.
While the evaluation may not significantly influence the judge, I do feel somewhat vindicated. The assessment confirms that attraction alone doesn’t predispose someone to harmful behavior, which raises important questions about the proportionality of a twenty-year sentence. My lawyer suggested I take a polygraph test to demonstrate to the court that I’ve never had sexual contact with a minor. Though it might not sway the judge’s decision, he believes it couldn’t hurt our case.
